Lloydminster is a comprehensive health organization providing an integrated service delivery system that includes public health, mental health, home care, long-term care, acute care, as well as health promotion, ambulance (contracted) and alcohol and drug services (contracted) to residents of both provinces in the region.

Special Services Offered by the Hospital:
The Lloydminster Hospital is an active treatment community hospital with in-patient care including medical, obstetrics, surgical, paediatrics and a special care unit, as well as out-patient and emergency services.
Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre, Jubilee Home, and Home Care Services:
These facilities provide long term care to residents, including Community Support Programs such as Rehabilitation Program, Respite Care, Palliative Care Program, Sub-Acute and Transitional care. The extensive Home Care program provides care, support and education to assist individuals and families to remain independent in the community. Services/programs such as Nursing and Home Health Aide services; Meals-on-Wheels; Adult Wellness Centres; Equipment Loan Program; Life Call Emergency Response Program
Libbie Young Centre:
This facility provides support services for persons experiencing chronic and persistent mental illness. The Centre offers residential (long and short-term) supportive apartment living, as well as day programming to clients of Lloydminster and area.
Other Medical Services:
Alberta’s East Central Regional Health Authority also operates in Lloydminster, and they provide services to 110,000 residents in approximately 84 communities in Eastern Alberta. Within Lloydminster, East Central Health works in affiliation with the Prairie North Health Region, providing Continuing Care services to citizens of Lloydminster.
The East Central Health Authority is operating under Alberta’s New Health Policy Framework, released in March 2006. This is designed to help guide health leaders in providing a more responsive and sustainable health system for Albertans both now, and in the years to come. This framework is guided by ten distinct policies, which include: strengthening inter-regional collaboration, expanding system capacity; paying for choice and access while protecting the public system; and reshaping the role of hospitals.
